My parents have, sadly, fallen for a lot of the QAnon bullshit.

THis morning she sent me an article, from fuckin' Breitbart, with the subject line WHY ISNT THIS BEING REPORTED IN MAINSTREAM NEWS? About the police in france joining the yellow vest riots.

1. The yellow vest rioters have a point that I don't disagree with. If the french people can't make a living wage, and the police aren't down to clown with that, then... yeah.

2. Ok so what if they set the arc de triomph on fire?

3. MOTHER ITS NOT ON MAINSTREAM NEWS BECAUSE BREITBART HAS THE FACTUAL ACCURACY OF A POTATO

For a woman who values factual reporting and wants to cultivate knowledge of a wide range of sources, she sure has fallen for a LOT of bullshit conservative fake news and it irritates the shit out of me.

I have an aunt that's like that... though she's been a Republican for longer, "because they support Israel".

Which, Israel's own politics aside, is kind of sketchy? I heard about that 'the religious right thinks the Second Coming will happen when all the Jews are in Israel' theory, and I've been very 'O.o' ever since.

The rest of my family avoids Breitfart, though, which is a relief.

Yeah, that's the basic gist. My parents firmly believe we live in THE END TIMES which is... okay, mom and dad, you do you. But I think it does affect their quality of life, and I understand how hard it is for people firmly entrenched in that brand of Christianity to un-entrench, but I wish they'd let go of some of those ideas.
